Indian Mughal-style Miniature Painting

Description
An Indian Mughal-style miniature painting, most likely depicting a nobleman or prince in a garden. Scenes of nobles in gardens, often interacting with birds, flowers, or animals, were common subjects in Mughal painting, symbolizing refinement and courtly leisure. The panels above and below the painting contain Persian/Urdu calligraphy. This is likely an early 19th painting whose border layout resembles pieces produced for collectors during the British colonial period. Provenance: From a Wellesley MA Estate.
