The History of the City of New York in hardcover, 1st Edition in two volumes published in 1877. Original 3/4 tan leather over marbled boards and gilt titles on spine with marbled page edges and end pages. More than 150 illustrations–portraits, maps, buildings, landscapes, etc.– in each volume. 786 pages and 820 pages. At the time of its publication, this work was reputed to be “the most complete history ever published of any city in the world.”
