Lot 143:
American Postwar Figurative Expressionism Painting
Description
Original oil-and-mixed-media painting on canvas, depicting a young red-haired woman reclining or sitting on a bed/sofa. The artist deliberately combines a fairly carefully modeled face with extremely loose, sketch-like passages elsewhere, typical of postwar figurative expressionism. Label on the reverse is LARSON-JUHL, a picture-frame/molding company. Dimensions: 42″ x 35″
