Description
British Pattern 1796-type light cavalry officer’s saber, probably a private-purchase variation rather than a strictly standardized enlisted model, circa 1796-1815. The sword has a strongly curved fullered blade, reverse-P/stirrup guard, curled quillon, rounded langets, and lion-head pommel.
