Description
Framed oil on canvas landscape of a French town and fields by Marcel Dyf. Signed lower left. Marcel Dyf (1899 – 1985) worked in France and is known for landscapes, floral still life and seascape painting. Dyf, like many other young French artists, was heavily influenced by Pierre A. Renoir. Throughout these years, Dyf principally painted in three areas: in Brittany (Bretagne), Provence, and the Ile de France. This painting depicts Champs de Blé (wheat fields) in Bretagne. Provenance: Deaccessioned by Mount Holyoke College Art Museum in 2024. Dimensions: 22″ x 28″ Image size
