Description
Richard E. Taylor (1838-1912) oil on board, signed and dated on lower right : E. Taylor 1896, titled ” Waiting on for their men”. The painting depicts a beautiful Harbor Scene with tall ships in the distance. A pair of excited fancy dressed women standing on the deck of their clipper ship awaiting a rowboat with their men aboard, one of which is waving to them. A beautifully detailed Impressionist oil on board painting, gallery framed in gilt gold. Edward Richard Taylor RBSA was an English artist and educator and painted in both oils and watercolors. He was associated with styles of Romanticism and Arts and Crafts movement and is known for his painting of domestic genre, landscapes, water scenes and portraits.
