Description
Framed amazing montage/collage, signed lower right, with a hand painted scene from left to right with President Abraham Lincoln delivering his famous Gettysburg Address to a painted scene of General George Washington at snow covered Valley Forge. Above is the American eagle in front of the inaugural American Flag banners. Centered in a 9″ by 12″ oval border are three original historical medals and the 4th infantry Forage Cap Insignia. The metals include a “Patriotic Order Of Sons Of America” from a reunion in Harrisburg on August 25, 1905 with a wonderful celluloid pin-back button of George Washington. On the left is another “Patriotic Order Of Sons Of America” 60 year badge Souvenir pin and on the right is a “Patriotic Order Of Sons Of America” badge from a 1906 Philadelphia reunion. Illustrator, and painter, Homer Hill (1917-1968) lived in New Providence, New Jersey and spent much career working in New York City. Dimensions: 15″ x 18″ Image size, 23.5″ x 26″ including an ornate walnut frame.
