Description
The Spanish light musket/colonial escopeta with Miquelet Lock was a .69 caliber musket used in the mid-seventeenth century by Spanish cavalry on the colonial frontier in both North and South America. This is a Miquelet lock marked “ANTO ROMAN”, finished bright metal with relief carvings in stock around barrel tang. Several of these muskets were still used during the Mexican War of 1848 on both sides, especially with the Texas Militia. Dimensions: 30″ Barrel, 44″ Overall
