Description
Model 1842 percussion Palmetto South Carolina pistol dated 1853. Lock plate has the usual markings-Palmetto Armory, SC surrounding the palmetto tree and “Columbia SC, 1852″ marked vertically at the rear. The barrel is marked V/P and on the side WM. GLAZE & CO. The tang is marked 1853 as typical. The Palmetto Armory was formed by William Glaze and Benjamin Flagg (former superintendent of the Asa Waters factory in MA). Only 1000 were produced. Dimensions: 8.5″ Barrel, 14” Overall
