Description
Oil painting on paper laid on board of the clipper ship “The Lahloo”, a ship in 1869 travelled from China to England in a record 97 days. Sea painter, Montague Dawson (1890-1973) was born in Chiswick, England and is known for sailing ships and ocean view painting. He was among the leading marine painters of his day, with Queen Elizabeth along with American Presidents collecting his work. This work has brush marks and varnish stains but there is a possibility of being an oil painting on a paper print. Dimensions: 20″ x 28″ Image size, 25″ x 33″ Overall
