1817 letter by Nicholas C. Oudinet concerning the re-assignment of soldiers. Marshall of France and Governor of Holland, Nicolas Charles Oudinot ( 1767 –1847), was a French general of the Napoleonic Wars and is known to have been wounded 34 times in battle. A Marshal of the Empire, he is best known for his contributions to the Napoleonic Wars with his famous grenadier division. Oudinot is one of the Names inscribed under the Arc de Triomphe.
