Description
Two framed portraits of Civil War and Indian War Veteran, Charles Turner. One portrait is somewhat humorous with a fly on his chin with mouth wide-open. Charles became a well-known artist in Boston, studied in Europe, and painted landscapes, portraits (which these are two) illustrations, and genre scenes in oil and watercolors. He studied with Otto Grundman (1844-1890) at Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Turner was a member of the Unity Art Club and the Boston Art Club where he became president. Accompanied with the portrait are several photos of him as an artist and photographer. Dimensions: 10″ x 8″
