Description
Early pine Shaker writing desk in a small size with three dovetailed constructed small drawers, open writing surface, four graduated lower case drawers, top drawer with hinged interior lid. The desk rests on a cut-out base. From a New London NH home. Provenance: The family received it many years ago from the Whitney Homestead on Canaan Street, Canaan NH and most likely from the Enfield NH Shaker Colony. Similar example in the book “Shaker Furniture” by Edward Andrew, plate 32. Dimensions: 38″ H x 27″ W x 18″ D
