Description
Set of four Federal mahogany dining chairs with carved eagle back splat. Needle point seats on sabre legs. Would go nicely with the Seymour dining table. One chair stamped "LWP" perhaps the owner or maker. These New York City chairs were possibly from the workshop of Duncan Phyfe. There were found in Rensselaer NY. There is provenance which states under a seat that the chairs came fro NY and delivered to Rensselier in 1813 for a Hawthorne McColluch. Date: Circa 1815 Dimensions: 18" Seat height 33" Overall
Condition: Structurally all fine, one chairs has minor age crack. Seats were re-upholstered around 1935.
