Description
Rare 1821 printing of The Declaration of Independence on cloth. Produced and distributed by Robert & Colin Gillespie for the American market. There are facsimile signatures of the signers and the 13 state seals surrounding the document. Washington, Adams and Jefferson are depicted on top of the document along with a detailed eagle. This is the earliest known rendition on cloth. Dimensions: Framed 36" Height 31.5" Width
Condition: Some staining and brownish/red coloring but a great example of this rare textile. All the text is quite readable.
