Important, signed Alvin Fisher portrait oil painting on canvas of a brother and sister holding a book. The book cover is signed and dated by Alvin Fisher. Alvan Fisher (1792 – 1863) was born and worked in Massachusetts and is known for Landscape, animal, genre and portrait paintings-this being one of his best portraits. Vose provenance with catalogue number (23580) on back. Dimensions: 35.5" x 27.5" Image ; 45" Height x 37.5" Width Overall
Condition: Relined, very slight chipping on edge of frame
