Summer 2024 Auction
Lot 15:
Framed oil on canvas on artist board of a country road scene in Autum with a barn and farmhouses with mountains in the background. One of Canada’s leading artists, Emily M. Carr (1871 – 1945) was active in British Columbia and is known for Rain Forest landscape, Indian villages and totem pole painting. Provenance: This painting was acquired by a Goffstown NH estate in 1938 in Toronto at a museum charity. Note: the style is quite different than most of her paintings, but the signature seems correct, and she visited and displayed her work at that time in eastern Canada at the Women’s Art Association of Canada gallery in Toronto. Dimensions: 15″ x 19 Image size
Condition: Very good condition
