Description
Exceptional and rare 1821 printing of The Declaration of Independence on cloth in black ink. Produced and distributed by Robert & Colin Gillespie for the American market. There are facsimile signatures of the signers and the 13 state seals surrounding the document. Washington, Adams and Jefferson are depicted on top of the document along with a detailed eagle. This is the earliest known rendition on cloth. Dimensions: Framed 34" Height 32" Width
Condition: This is probably the most exceptional textile as most are more difficult to read and have reddish-brown coloring
