Description
A CT River Valley Pilgrim Century-period decorated board chest, probably Springfield, MA area. This chest, inscribed "1693" and decorated with geometric patterns of arches and lozenges, utilizes a number of differing punch types and conforms with the use of deep crease molding, rose-head nail construction and cotter-pin hinges; measures 48" long, 18" deep and 24" high.
