Description
Oil on canvas painting of clockmaker Frederick Rasch in a gold swept frame, indistinctly signed by Robert Dighton, annotated in pencil to stretcher with a James Bourlet label verso. Robert Dighton (1752-1814) was an English portrait painter, printmaker, artist od “droll” mezzotints and a caricaturist. He worked for publisher Caringto Bowles until 1793 and later his own shop in Charing Cross. Dimensions: 30″ x 20.5″ Image size, 36″ x 31″ Overall.
