Original 18th Century (1780-1810) American Sailor Carved, Scratch Art and Colorized “Bugbear” Coconut Powder Flask. This Late Revolutionary War Era Powder Flask, measures 6.75 inches tall by 3.75 inches wide at the middle. This One of a Kind Nautical Fork Art “Bugbear” has some of the most Amazing Scrimshaw Scratch Art we have Ever Encountered. With simply Amazing Folk Art Naval Military Tall Ship in the Center showing a Red, White and Blue Flag to the Incredible Floral and Scrolls that go around the entire Powder Flask. There is not one place on this piece that does not have Scratch Art. The Bugbear’s face is even noticeable on one side with raised eyes, nose and mouth if you look very closely. And to make this even more Amazing this “Bugbear”, has been colorized, known as Polychrome around the entire piece.
